Boeputhutse Junior Secondary School beat Soshanguve Self Help Association of People with Disabilities (Soshad) 4 goals to 1 on last week Wednesday at Boeputhutse Junior Secondary School field ground in Soshanguve Block F.

Themba Motsepe, a grade 7 learner, scored a hat trick and the fourth goal was scored by Tshepo Ndlovu for Boeputhutse Junior Secondary school. Soshad managed to get a good goal that came from William Masusku after being denied a goal from a penalty spot.

The game was well organised by social workers, Luara Sepepng, Vonia Chiwandza and Derrick Nyahuruwa from Soshanguve Self Help association of People with Disabilities. Derrick Nyahuruwa said that the purpose of the soccer match was to involve people with disabilities in social events and to promote a positive perception towards people with disabilities.

After the game Soshad reached its aim as both teams were hugging and shaking hands with one another. Social worker, Nyahuruwa, said, “It was a good game despite the loss. We are achieving our aim which is to see our people confident. They were treated as equals. They are happy with their performance.”

Teacher and coach Terrance Mokone, of Boeputhutse Junior Secondary School said “Both teams played well and I think this kind of game should be initiated at other schools.” Vincent Mahlangu coach of Soshad said that he was happy with the match and that his players believed in themselves.

Parents supported this game in numbers. Julia Ntuli, a parent said “They are confident. We need to back them. They will be something important in life in future. They will reach big goals soon if they continue with matches. Soshad is looking forward to more successful soccer matches.”
